Wayfinding allows for the use of a variety of materials.
Consider include; the possibility for expansion, many of the wayfinding examples leave blank spaces specifically designed to account for expansion; movability is a major issue as well, anything that is painted on the walls is rendered useless if the workspace changes, is rearranged, or is moved; also, icons similar to those mentioned in the brief are often included in wayfinding and should be treated in relation to it. About 95% of the wayfinding examples that I saw were signage based and rarely deviated from that style.
